THE HOT COOK
I have to go into the kitchen to cook a meal,
Like a melting lump of lard I’m going to feel,
Something quick without the oven being on,
For today’s temperature is another hot one.

It gets harder to think of a meal to go and cook
So you don’t melt and like a lobster look,
Stir fry it’s going to be and I’ll zap the rice,
The BBQ is broken or burgers would suffice.

In another few minutes I will start the heat,
Maybe outside afterwards the meal we’ll eat,
For there is a breeze that is blowing heat away,
I must admit I am looking forward to a cooler day

I usually love to cook and good smells go everywhere,
But when it is really hot it stagnates the already hot air,
So I will go and attack the food in the kitchen right now,
I will glow instead of sweat it’s more lady-like somehow .
