WATER LILIES
It seems this year in northern lakes water lilies abound,
With many different shades and colours in them found,
White, yellow, pink and the light purple ones as well,
Making the water look so pretty as on them they dwell.
Dancing on the sparkling water in beauty and sweet grace,
That if people stopped a moment and a lovely lake do face,
They would see them all arrayed surrounded with green
And on the vivid blue water great, glorious beauty is seen,
Usually arranged around the edge they form a necklace fair,
Their loveliness, with all who pass, they willingly share,
In the heat of the day they may close their petals and rest,
It is usually in early morn when they are at their very best.
Stop by a lake and watch those water lilies dance for you,
See each wax-like flower there and enjoy the great view,
Look, as the sun comes to paint lakes dark blue and pink,
Stop and gaze in wonder and from nature pure cup drink
