IN HONOUR OF MORTIMER’S
BEEF PIES
My family are fussy, homemade pies they only
normally will eat,
But the day was hot and we were busy and I
needed a treat,
To go out for a good meal somewhere nice at that
moment was out,
What shall we do for a meal? we have had too much
salad without a doubt.
Off to Dominion to have a look around to find a tasty
quick easy meal,
A Mortimer’s beef pie, let’s try it out then see
how we all feel,
With new potatoes and home grown beans
we sat to eat,
The pie smelt good maybe we had found a
new baked treat.
Nine out of ten the meal was rated, yes, Mortimer’s pie
had past the test,
Even the pastry was as good as mine, now
my case I rest.
Thank you for a meal that I didn’t have to
go and bake,
And I’ll tell all my baking friends that they
too can get a break.
