WAGES I don’t think the Lord will ask, what did we earn,
How full was your pay packet, not His concern,
But He may ask did you come by it honestly,
Or will you be ashamed one day to face me?

Whether prince or pauper it’s honesty that matters,
Not if you are well dressed or have to wear tatters,
A high salary well earned through righteous living
Is better than a poor man who turns to stealing.

The minimum wage maybe all you can now earn,
But progress in life and on the way through learn
To develop through honest ways how to earn more,
Work hard even if you are the one sweeping the floor.

We should remember the wages of sin is death to the soul,
Never allow wealth to change your honest roll,
Always be honest in the dealings with all your fellow men,
Honesty and honour’s like a guide to be with God again.

Although an amount of money is needed to sustain a life,
Don’t let it make you its master bringing trouble and strife,
Keep faith with your character don’t let greed destroy you,
And you will be blest with who you are all your life through.
