More poems about Trees

THE LOGGING TRUCKS
Massive trucks laden down with hundreds of trees
Which can no longer sway to and fro in the gentle breeze.
Going to the plant where many wooden products are made,
There appears a sorry sight as millions of trees are laid
Pile upon pile, surely just yet they don not need any more
To feed humans needs as waste out of the chimney does pour.

I don’t think I’d like to see all the great forests disappear,
I am sure our own destruction we are bringing near,
As well as all the wild life that has no place to go,
Losing sight of the moose, the deer, elk and buffalo,
Not counting all the small creatures that need forest and glen.
Do we realize the power placed on the shoulders of men!

How many of gods gifts are misused by our power?
When greed overtakes need until no leafy bower
Will be found, no forests where beasts can roam free.
The air we breathe will be as deadly as can be
And some men will curse god, raging as they die,
As a loving Father in heaven gives a heart weary sigh.
