WANTING A NEW HOME
I like to hear the sound of water splashing in a sheltered bay
And wild life great and small, children laughing as they play,
Hear sounds of the forests trees as they sing their plaintiff song
It is the kind of place where I feel that I really and truly belong.
Its where a deep blue velvet cloak is the glorious sky at night
And the stars glow and twinkle helping the night be bright
Even with no moon, see each constellation, without number,
And nothing but the wolf and loon disturbs your slumber,
When the moon shines in glory through her sojourn in the sky,
From half waxing to half waning as see shadows as you go by,
Then when she is tossed along by rough clouds bringing rain,
It is always a great joy to see her bright face shine once again.
So let us in our fading years find a perfect place to live awhile,
Not in a big city with its garish lights and pompous style,
But go and live where forest talk and wild animals come to call,
If that is not possible at least we can sigh and dream about it all.
