ARRIVAL
Days when the warm sun melts away the snow
And without coats and mitts outside we can go,
The air is mild and the wind is gentle and kind,
And other happy signs we can all easily find.
The Marsh has busy nest builders all the day,
And insects return to feed as they work away,
River and streams run high as the snow recedes
And there is hustle and bustle among the tall reeds.
The loons are resting as they are northward bound,
Many strange species of birds migrating are found
At rest, going to and fro in a beauty spot by the lake,
So worth a long walk through the Marsh quietly take.
Watch the arrival of spring awake the land once again
As along comes leaf and flower and shrubs all aflame
With the glorious blush of spring, as winter fades away,
As each day improves until hot summer comes our way.
