THE RADIO REVELLERS
When we were going courting many years ago,
We used to go hiking and climbing and all did know
The two of us, for we had a small portable radio
And we played classical music wherever we did go.
It was grey and red about the size of a lunch box Id say,
We never played it loud so as not to scare nature away,
In fact I think the creatures liked it and birds sang along,
And in the youth hostels we always gathered a throng.
The radio revellers they called us, welcomed us with glee,
For there were just bare essentials in youth hostels you see,
Bunk beds, tables and chairs, with plenty of food to eat,
So music from our radio was indeed a real special treat.
We even had a dance in one very lonely far off place,
Everyone having fun, happy smiles on each young face,
Chores were done to music and how well they were done,
Being the two radio revellers was indeed a lot of fun.
We kept that old radio long after it was out of style,
Often looked at it remembering happy days with a smile,
Now we radio revellers are getting a little older every day,
But listening to good music still helps us along lifes way.
