MY FAVOURITE PIE
Yesterday I wrote about my lemon meringue pie,
But other pies beside that and apple always lie
Well after a good meal and also as an extra snack,
My favourite, a bumble berry pie on the cooling rack.
As well as all the lush berries I add some apple too,
And lovely fresh rhubarb in it as soon as it is through
And big enough to pick, and then the oohs are heard
By all who havent had this treasure, many praising word.
If the berries can be picked fresh, that is the very best,
But there is such a mixture in that pie that always rests
So well in an empty tummy, so packets can be found,
Then add more fresh ones that you find growing around.
Go on, make an effort for the family, make this great pie
And then their praises for your work will always fly high,
The only problem is the pie never lasts quite long enough,
But it is always the same when cooking all the good stuff.
