        JOB HUNTERS
They come feeling so sad and sorrowful,
Thinking life hopeless or at least very dull,
Everyday a time of drudgery and heartache,
In the morning not wanting to be awake.

Job hunters constantly seeking, naught to find,
A burden of shame and worry on each mind,
Rejection a cruel constant companion they know,
It is hard for a smile and bright eyes to show.

The church employment centre has a cure indeed,
As ideas and confidence and knowledge they feed
To those who feel there is no hope, no way out,
All they feel when entering is despondency and doubt.

Yet leaving they feel uplifted, fed with confidence,
A feeling of self-worth dwells now and a sweet sense
Of gratitude for all they know now to happily strive
And once again have the feeling it is good to be alive.
