HEALING MUSIC
Have you ever had a moment when music soothes the mind,
When in the mad Christmas rush sweet peace is hard to find?
It was when the children were small and I was quite worn
And from the radio came the majestic sound of the horn.
A trumpet shall sound, I knew that music quite well
And I stopped and listened and my heart began to swell
With sweet peace and grateful tears ran down my face
As I listened to that great sound so full of joy and grace.
The pastry could wait, for my tired mind needed to heal,
I also needed the real meaning of Christmas to then feel,
The Messiah was being performed so I sat to rest awhile,
Then the true spirit of the season made to want to smile.
After, the tasks were easy for my whole being was alight
With the joy that the music that had made my life bright,
Now I sang as I worked for music had touched my heart,
For the whole of the Christmas season music did its part.
