        THE LOVE OF LITTLE CHILDREN
How long is it since you had a kiss or hug off a child?
Unconditional love with sticky fingers, heart so mild,
Wanting to show they care and you needing that love,
It is as the whole of heaven smiles on you from above.

The younger ones are the best to show they really care,
With God’s pure light in their eyes and seem unaware,
That it may not be proper when a handshake will do,
The exuberance of joy and love comes right through.

I love to feel a child’s small arms holding onto me,
Often tears of joy and gratitude will flow quite free,
As I remember the Master when He said to those around,
Suffer the little ones to come for such in heaven is found.

Then a new thought was shown to me just the other day,
Maybe the Master needed a child’s love in a special way,
Needed that sweet love to help strengthen Him when spent,
And telling us that each child is from sweet heaven sent,
