EASTER LILIES
You should see my Easter lilies, pretty as can be,
Three out of seven in full bloom for all to see,
The fragrance fills the living room all day long,
It makes the whole house sing a springlike song.
We bought it a week last Thursday, all in bud,
Easter Sunday we had a flower, I knew we would,
The perfect white trumpet with six petals like wax,
The plant has already brought joy, thats its task.
But four more trumpets await to awaken quite soon,
It seemed, on my plant Id been given an extra boon,
Seven blossoms on one lily I have rarely ever seen,
I think I picked the best even if it looked all green.
The soil was moist, it was in shade out of the sun,
Protected so that no blossoming had yet begun
Until I placed it in my livingroom window to see
A perfect plant, me to all her radiant beauty.
