HELGA THE GRACIOUS HOSTESS
A new friend we found when visiting family,
Helga, who invited us to her Shakespear party,
We both love Shakespear, went with our son,
Right from the very first moment we had fun.

For two people who she really did not know,
Great caring and kindness and love did show,
The company was marvellous, the food divine,
To not eat very well would have been a crime.

A medieval feast to celebrate the great Bard,
Food to delight the palate, to talk was hard,
For the food was so good to eat, all so fine,
So few chatted while we sat down to dine.

Helga was thoughtful hostess, the very best,
She worked hard, had friends to help, a test
Of a true hostess, the honours to duly share,
Thought of everything with considerate care.

She even made some soup and trifle wine free
For just three of us, a true hostess that is to me,
Thank you dear Helga for asking strangers in,
So a new, and we hope, lasting friendship win.
