        LOOKING FOR A RECIPE
I was looking for a recipe for an extra special cake,
Something different for a change to try and make,
There’s a two tone chocolate cake that’s just right,
Then I saw the ingredients, the price was out of sight.

I needed a recipe that contained things I already had,
For with the pantry loaded to buy more made me sad,
So I kept on looking to see what I could try and find,
But I was not sure what I had buried deep in my mind.

Some kind of gooey cake chocolate would be the best,
Or a fluffy lemon cheesecake with a great deal of zest,
A strawberry shortcake was not quite the right thing,
A marble cake might work and that’s a simple thing.

Well, I’ll just go down and throw a few things together,
See what happens, an adventure in nice spring weather,
Maybe just little cupcakes done just a different way,
Although I’ve been longing for cheesecake for many a day.

I know, I’ll do both, the family will wonder what they forgot,
Birthday? Anniversary? Celebration? They’ll go through the lot,
It’s worth the effort to see the look on each face as they see
All the goodies placed on the table like fancy great festivity.
