More poems about Lakes

A SPECIAL MORNING
Shrouded in a mist that glittered like dew,
The morning sun arose but was hidden from view,
Ethereal it seemed clothed in a misty gown,
The air seemed to sparkle like a jewelled crown.

Everywhere seemed quieter on that early morn,
Very little traffic heard, no noisy honking horn,
All seemed hushed into a deep silent peace,
As if nature allowed her heart to almost cease.

The shrouded sun climbed over the still lake,
Not a ripple or wave did the mass of water make,
Then slowly as if just arising the sun shone bright
And her misty gown disappeared out of sight.

A skein of geese from the south returning,
Landed in grace and beauty the still water stirring,
Then once again all was still as they did glide
On the clam water and my joy I could not hide.
