More poems about Valentines Day

MY LOVE
When love first plucks at your heart strings,
Even cloudy days seem all sunny and bright,
Every song bird around for you sweetly sings,
And in the whole world everything is just right.

I found my love many years ago, we were small,
He had eyes that with a twinkle touched my heart,
A polite boy, a shy boy who for protection did call,
Saving him from a gang who wanted to pull him apart.

We met very seldom in those early passing years,
Although others boys came along he was for me,
I saw him date much prettier girls, I had no fears
For the love I had for him would last though eternity.

That love has deeply grown and that boy is truly mine,
The best husband in the world with a love strong and true,
Children and grandchildren know of my love long and fine,
How a young boy had dancing eyes, a smile coming through.

Those eyes still have that sparkle, still shine with love divine,
Our love is deep and strong and we’ll go on loving ever more,
He is so good to me and very kind and our union is sublime,
Even after more than forty six years each other we truly adore.

Thank you sweetheart, eternal companion and best friend,
May our love continue to grow, so to each other joy impart,
For our love comes from heaven, it’s a love that will never end,
The kind of love that is one, the two of us with a single heart.
