GINGER COOKIES AND HOT CHOCOLATE
A nice treat before going to bed, at least it is for me,
To have some ginger cookies as crunchy as can be
And a cup of frothy warm, smooth hot chocolate,
Sitting in front of the fire when it’s getting late.

Another thing that’s fun to do is dunk the cookies in,
I am sure that posh people would call that a bad sin,
But ginger cookies dunked are delectable to eat,
But getting it to your mouth can be quite a feat.

The worse thing to happen as you enjoy this delicacy,
Is for it to stay in the drink and not come out free,
But you are left holding onto just a very little bit
Of cookie, the rest in the warm drink does sit.

If you are quick you may grab it before it sinks too low,
But usually you hopelessly watch it go quietly below,
Then to drink the chocolate you have to do it with great care,
So you can keep the broken cookie staying at the bottom there.

But it is worth the risk to taste an ginger cookie dipped in,
Even though most fussy people may think it an awful sin,
But late at night by the fire with no one to watch and stare,
Go ahead, have a try, taste this night cap sweet and fair.
