        STICKY BUNS
A favorite in our home are warm sticky buns,
Always given liberally to everyone who comes,
Light, sweet and fluffy with icing on the top,
Much better than bought ones from the shop.

Yet it’s ages since I’ve made this special treat,
Now I’ve thought of them that’s all I want to eat,
Just out of the oven, new bread smell in the air,
Makes my mouth water, for it wafts everywhere.

I mentioned it to my husband, his eyes were bright,
Warm sticky buns, a thing dreamed of with delight.
So I will make the effort those sticky buns to make,
Please call round to have one for goodness sake.

For it’s hard to make a small batch, they don’t work out,
We three shouldn’t eat them all, we would no doubt,
It takes about four hours for them to be ready to eat,
So come around about five and share our sweet treat.
