More poems about the Saviour

        I WOULD HAVE LIKED
I would have like to sit quietly at the Master’s feet,
Listened to every word, then His every need meet,
What words of comfort would He have said to me?
I know they would have blessed me for eternity.

I would have liked to walk by His side with the throng,
Would we have been silent or sang some hymn or song?
Or did He teach with every step we took along the way,
Explaining about the right path and how not to stray.

I would have liked to have seen Him talking to each child,
I wonder, would it have made me more humble and mild?
Then watch Him heal the sick and still the raging storm,
Gaze into His eyes and feel of His love so deep and warm.

But I did not sit at His feet, or walk by His side and see
Him bless the children, heal the sick in a land called Galilee,
Nor Did I see His power as the raging sea obeyed His will
With those ever comforting words He spoke, ‘Peace be still’.

Yet as I read the scriptures I know He still comes to me,
I know of His love and kindness and His endless charity,
So I do not really have need to have walked by His side,
For He is here right beside me, my great strength and guide.
