A NICE SURPRISE
Grocery money does not go far,
everyone will agree with me,
And when you have a little left
over it fills you with glee,
I thought I had about eight dollars
in my wallet after the shopping,
Then I needed pans so I could
cook my Christmas puddings.
The bill came to five seventy five
I was glad that I had enough,
But instead of a blue five dollar bill
it was the red coloured stuff,
Yes a nice new ten dollar bill to my
wonder and great surprise.
At that moment I really could not
believe my bright eyes.
It did not last long for the milk
had nearly all gone,
But at least I could go and buy it
before we had none.
