WORK LIST
When there is a lot of work for me to do,
I make a work list then when a task is through
I put a big check mark to say it is all done
This helps you see the battle is being won.

If you want to see the check marks often appear,
Break down a task that you don’t like, isn’t dear
And you’ll feel that much better at the end of the day
When a whole sheet of check makes come your way.

Even if every task is not done, it doesn’t matter one bit
As you glance down in satisfaction when tired out you sit.
Here comes Brian to check off the white laundry finished,
Washed, dried and folded three checks on the work list.

Already we have said prayers, gone shopping to the gym,
Made the bed, had breakfast and potted the geranium,
Already the page is looking good and only nine thirty,
When I have finished this poem well down the list we’ll be.

This poem will only be short, there’s still lots to do
Before the work list is completed checked right through,
Bathrooms to be cleaned up, vacuum all over the place
And checking this off, keeps a smile upon my face.
