More poems about Family Thanksgiving

        CANADIAN THANKSGIVING
Nothing must be forgotten, everything be just right,
When all is finished the table will be a wonderful sight.
Most of the family coming to be together this day,
An opportunity to give thanks in our special way.

Start the trifle a day or two before along with the pies,
Apple, pumpkin and lemon meringue each a loved prize,
With whipped cream if the trifle has a little bit to spare,
Even before the main meal the deserts are chosen with care.

We always have french onion soup to begin the great meal,
With it’s magic ingredient that makes mine special I feel,
The main dish like most is turkey and ham and stuffing,
With three or more veggie’s to keep everyone smiling.

One says I make the best soup, another mentions the gravy
It is worth all the effort each happy face to be able to see,
And when the meal is finished and the dishes all put away
We’ll all around the fire and chat, the best part of the day.
