THE SPIRIT OF GOD
The spirit of God and the light of Christ
is found in every soul,
However bad, however good or in between
it make all feel whole,
A realization that doing good, being kind
always will be best
And most want truth and light but then
we have to do the rest.
To awake every morning knowing that
we should choose the right,
Is the spirit within us striving it’s
best to shine bright.
This is different than the feeling that comes
from our God above,
Through the prompting of the Holy Ghost
as He fills us with His love,
A voice whispers, telling to go to visit
an old friend today,
She has prayed hard that much needed
help will come her way.
That voice is the Holy Ghost doing His
job, a need to fulfill,
This is the way God lets us know just
when to do His will.
Preparing a talk or lesson, prompted to
say certain different things,
Not knowing at the time what guide and
comfort each word brings.
Revelation to us is a guiding light through
dark, storm tossed seas,
A moment when you say a phrase that
brings someone to their knees.
I pray that the Holy Ghost will reveal
to me every day
The things I need to know to keep me on
the straight and narrow way.
