        LATE SUMMER BLESSINGS
Late summer is a time when blessing overflow,
The sun is still warm and cooler breezes blow,
Sending away humidity, everywhere feels clean,
Flowers still bloom and gathering birds are seen,

Fruits and crops are already a delicious treat,
The sun later each morning kindly does greet,
The sky is still a warm blue, the still sun very bright
With the warmth of giving growth and radiant light.

Fewer sail and speed boats dot the great Lake Ontario,
Except for weekends, then many still come and go,
The parks are more silent, yet beauty is still all around
And there comes a peace with the lake’s gentle sound.

Late summer with it’s many colours ready for the fall,
A feeling of sweet contentment seems to settle over all,
All of nature is at it’s best, rich blessing flowing free,
An abundance of all good things a harvest of beauty.

All things explode and overflow with God’s pure love,
With all late summer’s blessings sent from up above,
From the smallest garden to some massive harvest field,
Gives us good things that this great country does yield.
