A YOUNG MISSIONARY
Their young six year old asked for
a book of Mormon to give away
As a Christmas gift but it was needed
On the eve not Christmas day,
He wanted to wrap it and leave it by
the fireplace or Christmas tree,
Just in case Santa wasnt a member,
although he thought he must be.
He had his parents help him write
out for Santa his testimony,
Simple words from a childs heart that
set tears flowing free.
Wrapped in pretty paper the book sat
next to the cookies and milk,
And by his bed he prayed with bowed head,
his blond hair as soft as silk.
When it was time to go on his mission
to some distant land,
The parents placed the book still wrapped
in their grown sons hand.
Go and spread the gospel dear son,
A fine missionary you will be,
Go and spread the gospel to others, remember
your childhood testimony.
