GETTING DINNER READY
Sometimes while getting dinner ready
I like to watch a show,
Get all the veggies done, put on to boil,
then to the livingroom go,
But what I find frustrating in every way
when I go to rest and sit,
It’s time for the commercials to come on
with their mindless wit.
One minute of my show then it goes
off for a long break,
It’s enough to drive me quite crazy
and put me in a fit.
I wish I could time things better but
it never seems to work out,
Unless someone is watching and then
they can be my scout.
“The show is on” they could call to me,
but then I cannot come,
A crucial stage of cooking then just
has to be done,
Then when I’m free and come running
fast and for a few minutes free,
It’s just another commercial I
seem to get to see.
Yet as long as it’s the bunny and hamster
watching the video store,
Then I’ll sit and have a good laugh then
set to my work once more.
