The Fat Cat by Nathanael Smith The fat white cat reclined on the floor, twitching it's ungainly tail in insane synchrony. With wicked eyes, winking first one eye then the next, it stared across the room at the fleeting glimpses of human energy, pouring themselves into the bowels of a blue computer. The fur on the cat's back stood up as the lights flashed, strobed, then went out. The human's hands had finally completed something, even if it was only a circuit inside of the box. Screams of preternatural power went unheeded as the feline's nonchalant gaze followed the arching path of the body as it reacted to the amazing jolt of energy. The concrete wall inserted a sudden angle into the flight path, followed by a loud crack as said path intercepted the floor. What with the shock of electricity and the crushing force with which his body hit the wall, the human soon ceased all movement and the cat stalked out of the room, fleeing the clinging odor of burning flesh.
