The whole of the law is contained in two commands: (Matthew 23:34-38) 1. Love the LORD your God with all your heart, mind, strength 2. Love your neighbor as yourself From these two commandments, we can extrapolate the rest of the law. For example, if you love your neighbor, you won't kill him (Exodous 20:13). If you love God, you won't put any other god before Him (Exodous 20:3), etc. And while we are no longer under the Law, the principles behind the laws still hold true. A Christian doesn't murder, not because some enigmatic law in an old tome commands otherwise, but because God is Love, and Christians are God's children. To murder, then, is against a Christian's nature. It's not loving to murder. And since we are to love our neighbors as we love ourselves, I think we can say that we are to love ourselves like we love our neighbors. We are, after all, not our own. We've been bought by Jesus and his unbelievable blood. To commit suicide, then, is to go against our Christian nature. Nowhere can I find a certification that suicidees are hellbound, or vice versa. All I can find is the fact that a Christian will not, while under the influence of God, commit suicide.
