Bedrooms In Your Dreams
Our DreamingWorld mailing list gives their impressions on Bedrooms :-)

To be in a bedroom, or see a bedroom in a dream, means to me that perhaps it's time to take some "rest" or "relaxation". To me the bedroom is a place to recoup and rest after the long day, and what better place to do so than in bed? I would have to take note of the surroundings in the dream also however, because the bedroom also means to me emotions of passion, love, devotion. And sex of course ;-). I would note the colour of the room, if it were familiar or not, past or present, and any people or animals in the room with me. ie. if it was a red room, with a cat in it, to me it would be a symbol of sexual independence. However, if the room had flowers, and was lighter in tones, like white, or yellows etc, it would take on a restful atmosphere to me.

I live in my bedroom, and always have to a certain extent when I have been a student etc.It is probably my only assured private space, not just for relaxation but for introspection, creativity and development. My own personal bedroom appearing in a dream would mean a point where things could be sorted out on my terms. A bedroom in general would have less of an impact, but if I ended up in someone elses bedroom I would be taking a look at a very private part of them - and presumably what was in the bedroom would have significant meaning in this respect. To me a bedroom has more personal meanings of a retreat, a haven, a sanctuary of the self, and that abilitiy to see what makes another feel safe or makes them want to retreat into their haven if you enter an unfamiliar bedroom.

Well, now! First thing that comes to my mind is personal space and privacy. Another which mum helped me put into words (I was thinking of it before I told her about this and she came up with the similar concept!) is reality, present reality. Think about it, you go to bed and dream, and dreams aren't real they're figments of imagination and thoughts from the sub-conscious. So you may need to come back down to reality, epsecially if you dream of dreaming maybe, like I have lately. Then there is the relaxation, rest part of it. You may to slow down and take five, especially if you're stressed out which will show up in dreams. Of course it all depends on the colour and atmosphere of the room.

Keep on Dreaming,

I like my bedroom, i am comfortable there. Perhaps that it what the image of the bedroom does for me in dreams-offers me comfort. I would say it represents a spiritual sanctuary.

Blessings,
