Prospect Hill Cemetery

Prospect Hill Cemetery is located on North Capitol Street near Rhode Island Avenue. It is the place of burial of many early German-Aerican residents of Washington, DC.

The German Heritage Society has dedicated a plaque at the Prospect Hill Cemetery. This cemetery was founded during the Civil War as a place for Americans of German heritage. The designer of the dome of the U.S.Capitol is buried there.
