...After picking up my just serviced "running real good" Sporty at Shaeffer's HD Shop,(All new gaskets! WooHoo!) Dave & I decide to do a road trip to the job site he's currently working at in Reading, Pa. We planned to take pictures of a new method of construction in this particular tank. All was going well, the weather was holding out... No surprises...Yet.
On the road to Shaeffers, I'm in the queen seat again...hehe... ridin' in the wind~~~!
a nice destination, Dave's current job site
a nice-looking storage tank...hehe..."A Work of Art!"
I'll take the high road, You take the low road... but lets leave the bikes at the bottom of the hill...: )
one more for the road...
an unsuspecting me, enjoying breakfast on the road I had no idea this relaxing day would shortly bring such adventure...
...When your riding on a motorcycle, relying on just two wheels, the laws of gravity, & your own balancing skills, and suddenly the road and the ride becomes "funky", you should trust your instincts and pull over---! Check things out! I thought my imagination was playing tricks on me when my bike started doing some wobbly, funky thing on the rough road. When I came out of the construction area on Rt 222, I KNEW something wasn't right. On the highway, my bike was still squirmy & squishy on the pavement. I got Dave's attention and pulled over...Seems I ran over an air hose pin that punctured my rear tire and It was flat!!! Now what to do!!??...(at this point, Dave was becoming annoyed with me taking photos during this crisis...hehe)
Now the "other" Diane, would panic, freeze up, maybe even cry right there on the spot, and adamantly refuse to ride a motorcycle with a flat "wobbly" feeling tire in all that fast, busy Rt 61 traffic..hehe..but this was the new Di..."I can do this, I can do this..."....
After finding a gas station, putting in air and fix-a-flat, (and still hearing it hissss-s-s-sssing) I had to do my best to ride home. Dave planned to stop at Shaeffer's and get a new tube, I was to head on home. He said the bike was light and I wasn't so heavy as to put too much weight on the tire. (Whew!) I was a nervous wreck, prayed along the way, and managed to get home safely...
Just what I need "AIR", "Fix a Flat"... ..and "Master Mechanic Dave"..hehe
The culprit! AHHA!
Once home, my personal mechanic Dave got to work, fixing it right away. Chopper stopped by and helped out. After two hours labor (and no charge..whew!), a new tube, a few swear words, my "baby"'s up and running again..Good as new and ready to roll~~~!Thanks honey!
..."My poor baby!..."..pout, pout...
Ready for the test ride.... Ummm-m, Dav-ie? Yer just a little too big for my little sporty....
