Wolf Fish
Hoplias malabaricus
The Wolf fish is a predatory Characin found in Central and northern regeons
of South America. They have a long cylindrical body and a mouth full of razor-sharp teeth.
The wolf fish is able to breath air, using its swim
bladder as an accessory breathing organ. This helps them survive in extremely swampy waters.
They are very hardy fish, and extremeley carnivorous.
This is a very aggressive fish, and so tankmates should be able to fend
for themselves. Provide shelter through rocks and roots with large plants in which the fish will lay in wait of prey.
Wolf fish are a livley, fierce and interesting fish to have in an exotic
aquarium, and are also avid jumpers. Cover the tanks!
