The Dark Arts
The Dark Arts

The Dark Arts were not always considered evil, in the begining they were the sacred rites known only to the highest priests. They started, the Rites of Osiris, the Rites of Ra, immortality for the Egyptian dead, Rites for Ishtar, Rites for Marduk, and then Sumer fell. The art was then taken up by Hebrew mystics, and with the aid of the Greeks, they formed the Mystic Qabalah, that is so commonly used even to this day. But that was only the begining.
Then the Christians came with there wooden crosses and paper demons, and the gods of old were "christianized" as devils. All who opposed this new path to rightousness were condemed. It was not that this was a new occupation for those in power, oh no, suppression of those under the yoke has always been the game of conquers.
The diffrence this time was that the Christians despised the old arts. The Scholars of old were murdered, tortured, and burnt. Their Books destroyed, their sacred places defiled. All this at Christian hands, for a "loving" god. This "loving" god would tolerate no other sacred path, and regulated the ancient paths of wisdom and enlightenment to the depths of Hell.
There within the darkness imposed by Christian Rule, the rights of Darkness were written, taking place at night for the safty of their followers, and spoken in the old tounge so that none may understand.
For a time this sufficed, but the light of the ancients was not dimned, Immortality was confined with the forms that Christians expected from worship of the Darkness. Isis the great mother of life no longer lived, and so it was with all the ancient gods, but as those who practiced the Dark Arts learned of the gods of old and of their worship, they saw how to leave the abyss.
Like Lucifer rising from the abyss to confront the mad god upon his throne of skulls, so do we speak the Rites of Light and Dark in the tounge of the angels. Like Lucifer we challenge god, and shine brightly, our darkness more radiant than any angel.
