James Mochan:... Pantheist Mysticism

Well now what, your probably asking yourself. First you hear about this new religion, Pantheism, and now your running into a subsection of it already. The truth be known, forms of pantheism have existed for a long time. While no Pantheist churches have ever yet been erected, to my knowledge, it may be because a pantheist sees all of the universe as holy and has no need for it. Thusly many aspects of pantheism have always taken some form throughout history. So why should there be any doubt that a form of Mysticism evolved from the religion?

As it is, pantheists refer to Pantheist Mysticism much more commonly now by calling it PanPsychism. Which holds that all matter besides being energy that reacts in astonishing ways is also believed to portray an aspect of sentience even at the most basest of levels of matter. Another aspect some pantheist mystics uphold is that although most matter cancels eachother out so that no center of awareness exists, unless in a intricate fashion such as in humans, that matter can retain a base memory and thus exists as a sort of collective unconsciousness. Thus this is explored by some through the teachings of Jungian Psychology.

Another thread of intrest in Pantheist Mysticism is the fact that some study the more common mystical arts such as pattern reading tools like Palmistry, I Ching, Astrology, Tarot Cards, etc. all of which are used as a reflection of the one its centered on. For example, when one casts a horoscope or a Tarot spread the symbols of the mystical art are used to reflect ones character such as in the process of Individuation and Divination in this way one can gain an understanding of the possible future and of a deeper understanding of themselves.

Yet another interesting thing about pantheist mysticism is the practice of manifestation. With the belief that all reality is a part of you and can be seeded with your thoughts and shaped by your will, and vice versa of course, some believe that events can be manipulated by ones will. An example of this is altering reality so that you get money in the mail or that you coincidentally come across a tutor or a book with great insights into spirituality. Many consider this actual magick and some have given it the name static magick for it works by what the untrained would call mere coincidence. The reality of it is that it does indeed work and can be repeated again and again if necessary thus this idea can be tested.

Another topic studied is the theory of synchronicity. The belief that we all have a spiritual reason for being here and that by following our true spiritual path miracles will seemingly begin to happen as in the shape of strange coincidences that lead us to what we are looking for or seek out of life like answers to questions and deeper insights into our true nature. If one diverges from their true spiritual path than these coincidences will seemingly stop appearing and it will appear as if you are always preoccupied with something while in truth the only wall is your preoccupation and by avoiding your true destiny you will become restless and lost.

Yet another topic of Pantheist Mysticism is an upcoming idea that has barely been explored yet. While its been hinted at already that a possible collective unconsciousness exists what hasn't been yet explained is that some believe that this fourth dimension is only barely understood by us. Some believe we can transcend our mere bodies and unite with this Godhead through becoming one with our higher self, our true spiritual path, which in theory would be like plugging your mind into a virtual internet where your paradigm of reality is your web browser with the only difference being all your really doing is waking up to the networked system your already a part of. This realm of existence has always been talked about theoretically as the astral plane or what some would consider the afterlife realm. See its all a matter of seeing a multidimensional universe based entirely off of ones perception of it.

So far all the ideas mantioned above are only the theoretical areas its assumed a true Pantheist mystic would be exploring. In truth, pantheist mysticism is too diverse and some pantheist mystics may be studying all sorts of strange concepts like Chaos Magick or maybe only some of what has been named here. However is is a growing field of intrest and it should be noted that Pantheist Mystics do often borrow ideas, insights from other philosophies, religions, etc. So to get a better idea of what we are doing and to get more involved simply join us at a forum on panpsychism or a similar topic at:

http://www.pantheist.net

and check out the forums. By checking in not only will you get to pick up new ideas being discussed but also you can explore the diversity of pantheism as it is. While no site has yet been designated for this area of pantheism I'm working on dedicating my webpage to it and it can be found at:

This all goes to show one thing. We mystics are still ahead of the general population. Don't believe me, well than check out some of the VRML sits being worked on. A new area of the net.
