Processed checks and donations. Contacted members to resolve any concerns. While working the position I suggested that they upgrade the database software, from a dos based dbase to something more robust--version they had would only allow one person in database at a time. changing programs would permit multiple users and increase productivity in shorter time period and make more efficient. I also made suggestions to design layout of office to increase space and productivity and versatility of small space. I was put in charge of rearranging office space. While moving furniture from storage to office managed to accomplish a move from one storage company to another reducing our rent and organizing the storage to make the supplies accessible all in a single day. Because of success with move and ability to organize office staff and accomplish goal as well as the fact that I had expressed interest in improving the office systems; I was put in charge of the computer systems, then office inventory/storage, then purchasing.
Plan I proposed would combine duplicated routines from different departments and unify them to improve management direction, workflow and effectiveness. Plan would have eliminated many current positions but I proposed to take those positions and expand on office capability. Proposed plan would be self-funding, expand on the education mission of company, give us more political influence by becoming our own media--broadcast, press, multimedia--as such we could be members of associated press an option not before exercised by the company. Within first two weeks of position found items in budget that were not being utilized; cut them and used money to fund acquisition of allocated bandwidth off full T1 with future capability to upgrade, product gave us phone solution and web services as well for less money that were paying before. While enjoyed the work and loved finding creative solutions for office business needs--left on basis of moral objection to the way the office was being run.

Retreat was so successful that staff stayed an extra two hours after the scheduled close of retreat. What took great pride in is that rather than being a hands on every element simply created atmosphere where the gifts and talents of the different staff could shine.

Quickly rose from transportation to home health and tutoring. Was able to work well with client many others were not able to. Again I like to fix and resolve problems. An increase in staff turnover and increased damages to vehicles I while at home on sick leave from head injury proposed policy changes and re worked transportation documentation. Meetings were held and I was recognized verbally as suggesting the regular staff meetings and the new policies and documentation that was going to be implemented.

During the course of the summer staff issues such as retention, several had left, and safty and professional behavior, became such an issue I made a few suggestions to my supperior and asked and obtained permission to hold staff meetings during the afternoon. I scheduled coverage for the cabins and shift so every staff could attend. Notes were taken and proposals made. Many of the proposals were implemented including, for those that wanted to prayer time in the morning, and signing children out at pick-up--it had been policy to sign children in but not out, I pointed out that many children are abducted not by strangers but people they know.

Many staff in the past had been known to fall asleep. A simple solution I created was a doodle book. It became social focus for the entire dorm and kept the staff awake and alert. It also increased the social life of the community as a whole as many would stop by the desk and visit and view the book. I also created a community information system and book for the front.

Ran the membership welcome desk. Was really nice often received notice from my boss that people had called in and complimented me on care and concern I had shown them. I also reported one of my co-workers for putting hours not worked on time sheet; as result when latter confirmed he was relieved of duty.
