Thoughts on Sanity, who'd dare take a crack at defining this paradox of paradoxes. Further more, who could possibly believe they know of it or anything even closely related to it. So i ask you again, WHAT is sanity? Maybe easier you could persuade me of IN-sanity above its opposite? Then please, enlighten me with your vast expertese. So i ask you now, what is INsanity? Could it be the way light glistens so smoothly from a crimson pool of lost blood, or perhaps the way one devotes his life to a single solitary purpose without stopping for two seconds even to ask "what the hell am i doing?" and "WHY?". Neither you say? Maybe how one can leap blindly, fiercly into chaotic frenzy and torrent of emotion (or lack there of).
Would you condone him then? Would you wish others to do the same for you? Are you also capable of such actions? Of course you are! Nothing but you own pride stops it. Wittingly or no, you are capable, we all are. |
Now i ask you, if you had the choice of two paths, one being well worn, shaped and molded by the passage of countless travelers, every bend mapped, every hazard posted, the second, being not there at all, ready for you to set its course wherever your will takes it. The first may very well seem the obvious choice, well worn, smooth travel, free of uncertainty and possible danger, plus the comfort of fimiliar ground. Why would you possibly follow a path which, in effect, doesn't even exist when you can take one already mapped by countless others befor you and save a wasted effort? or better yet, several paths of fair wear, all like in purpose, yet differeing in fimiliarity. Would you still even concider let alone acknoledge the existence of the path still hidden and could only be followed by your own fee will? Would it be good for you to follow either path when simply stillness or even back-tracking is what you require? How can you know when this is required? Could you ever knwo which direction, let alone path, is right for you?
Have you ever stoped, even for a second and wondered what you are doing, where you are going, or even how you got there in the first place? Unfortunatly, most of you, wittingly or not, have already proceded down the path of your likeing. Heading down a path which, to you, seems most desirable, for whatever reasons or excuses you can tell yourself. "The traveling will go smoother","I'l make better time","Others will admire my courage","I know i'l be safe this way", and to you, perfectly valid reasons to explain your jouney with at most, a slight certainty of what may lay instore for you down the road. Tell me now, did you stop, even for a moment, and even wonder "why am i doing this?","do i want to be doing this?","is this right for me?", "is this right for others?", or any other of a countless number of questions one may present themselves with. Tell me, have you? Or are you already on your way, makeing good time without having to waste any time on frivolous questioning? Are you already on your way without knowing, without understanding, heading blindly down that now dark, unfimiliar terrain you were so sure was right for you? DO you still know where you're going? what you'r doing? how your getting there, or even where you came from?
And so i ask you, are you still the sane one who chose his path so wisely with appeal to what you thought, in such haste, were your best wishes? Are you still the one who does not leap blindly into fevered frenzy without consideration of reason or consequence?
Are you still the sane??

Welcome to the PlaYGroUnD...
The corner of the grove devoted to those mentioned befor, ones who have found reality, looking to loose it, if only for one brief, precious moment. Of course, "the content is the audience" so whatever you get out of it is up to you!
So,
found that path you were looking for huh? or, maybe not. The likelyness is you probably don't even care that much! Well, whatever your reason, your being here can't be tottaly accidental. could it? If you took the time to read the little speal above, chances are you're hear because you want to be. Ok, i'l stop flattering myself. If you took the time to read the thoughts on sanity, you probably have an idea of what this place is about. The expression and practice of free will and the ability to question anything and everything is an ability which i, personaly, value in myself and others as a defining attribute to who and what you are. Socrates himself said as his testemony in his legendary trial,"the unexamined life is not worth living". You can imagine how that trial turned out.
So relax, if you'd like, i'l be posting some thoughts now and again along with some linkz to pages in likeness, but for now, i'l be content just getting this page finished! :o)
Any thoughts or comments you'd like posted(or not)? Submit them and i'l respond and/or post them ASAP. Please include a brief note explain if and how much should be included in the posting.
