Kindergarten Afternoon
Light dimmed low
Children are supposed to sleep
Some lay awake and fidget around
While others lay dreaming on the ground
Innocent smiles and laughs
Engulf the air
When the teacher flips the lights back on
They all know that recess is near
So they jump into a line
Awaiting to pretend their next adventure
First thing to go are the swings
Others run towards the slides
Chilly winds make skin tingle
As the warm sun beats upon their faces
Making them glow like angels
Who are floating on dreamlike clouds
What a beautiful sight to see
The young; so playful and carefree!
