Kisses for Bruises

They say married men won't kiss
I'm here to say they're wrong
those with passion do
only because they are strong

but he still closed his eyes
when I brought my gaze high
unable to watch my soul
but could watch the body cry.

I feel though, the love
he feels guilty for bearing
the way he kisses me softly
opening himself to another sharing

runs his fingers through my hair
and then across my face
not the typical mistress
no one can take my place

so are we in sin again
is it wrong to love a married man
who kisses with such tendering
some may not understand

but it helps life go by happier
and the time is filled with fun
he asks no forgiveness from me nor himself
but we do ask God, for what we've done

to understand it's not the way he wanted
how painful it must be
to bruise so easily
wanting to stay
black and blue, but to laugh
anyway.
