In The Background

You have always been there
frustrated with me but you stayed
said I drive you complete insane
and at times, I have betrayed,

but you still care about me
and want for me the best
even though I failed you
when you put me to the test.

You still see the good in me
and believe in who I am inside
you've handled my bad attitudes,
my sorrows, and foolish pride.

You still have the desire for me
you can see the passion when I cry
even though I say goodbye
too much because I often don't care
in the background, you are always there
and for the life of me, I can't figure why.
