A CHANGE OF FACE

A Gusto story! He's gotten word that the utmost famous artist, Jarass of Caladone, is going to be in Dunwyn for a short time. He convinces Zummi to shrink him so he can go and see the guy work without getting caught, cause the guy has an uncanny knack for sniffing out spies. He _never_ lets people see him work, and his paintings are always breathtaking. Almost magical in how alive and real they seem. So, shrunk down to 3 inches and bribing Artie into transporting him, Gusto arrives on the scene. Um.. Yes, I know the spell in the episode "Little Bears Lost" had to be undone in a certain amount of time but Zummi used the one from "The Secret Of The Juice" and what Gusto AND Zummi doesn't know is that I made the spell negate if they drink gummiberry juice. So, Gusto gets snuck in by Artie who promises to pick him up tomorrow night and he goes into hiding. Jarass is a very quiet man, humble as a preacher, and yet so mysterious! He totally incites curiosity. So, after getting Gregore away from the door so he can work, the guy doesn't go to painting but sits around and listens. Gusto is heard a bit at one point and Jarass's somewhat pointy ears track his hiding place down but doesn't see the shrunk gummi hiding behind a dresser leg. In thought, Gusto doesn't see the guy leave the room but all of a sudden a fox comes diggin' after him! In an escape attempt, Gusto drinks his juice and is no longer shrunk! The fox is quite surprised by this and asks Gusto what he is. Yep. The fox can talk! Got a curious accent, too. And his eyes look so familiar to the shocked Gusto. The fox says that he will not eat Gusto but he shouldn't be trying to spy on the painter. Gusto reveals a deep admiration for Jarass of Caladone and says that one of the artist's paintings inspired him to do the dragon thing on his island. Impressed, the fox guesses that he is an artist. Further talking ensues. Story ain't done but if ya wanna know the secret behind Jarass and his fox, and WHY he can't allow anyone to see him paint, ya gotta wait:) It's good!
