Matthew 12: 31-32 NIV "And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come".

We take this statement to heart. Our darkest sin can be forgiven and we will then be new and clean as never before. Further, we are grateful that all our sin has not offended God beyond his capacity to forgive. However, Jesus gives us a warning. If we criticize God to the extent that we blaspheme his Holy Spirit, we cannot be forgiven. If we open our heart as Jesus does when he forgives us, there is little or no danger that we would revert to being an enemy of God. We should have no fear of this provision.
