multiplied, clemency...

When at last the clouds lifted
 

unadorned! Midnight races
across crisp Oktobyr skies
with a clarity and ease
heretofore unwitnessed
by small darksome gatherers
gazing permanently
breathlessly
into limitless
star-bejeweled wonder.
 
 
 

Winter's breath

Staring out the open attic
window, his cool naked eyes
f
 al
    li
      ng
   to rest
   upon the cold
   heartless landscape
   a shiver
   crawls slowly painfully
   up his aged ragged spine
   as icy northern winds
   blow fitfully
   unceasing
   through carefully
   tousled hair.
