I went to the website you sent me in the email. Yes, This Brian Gacek is the same person that I knew. When I saw the picture and read the articles my stomach dropped and I became deeply saddened. I only knew him for a couple of months, but he was an extremely friendly person and he had a great personality. He didn't seem like a sad person. I don't understand why he would've done such a thing. Brian was a wiz at computers. He taught me a few things about hacking and phreaking. The biggest thing I remember about him was his backpack. He always had his school books, hacking magazines, and his programmable scientific calculator which he loved to program. He had some neat programs. Another thing I remember is his guitar. He played it great along with the piano.

Did anybody find a note left behind by Brian? Did anybody find a reason why he took his own life? I'm really sorry about your friend. He was my friend also. Peace,                                                           Joe Henning

A few minutes after I sent the last email I remembered a couple more things. The short time I knew Brian at the hospital He was very motivated about writing a book about AIDS. During his stay he had written the first two chapters. He had me proof read it for him. It was very informative and well written. After he left I don't know if he ever finished it. Another thing that he told me was that he wanted to bike across the country from the west coast to the east coast as a cause for AIDS. He believed very strongly for supporting Gay,Bisexual, transgender, and AIDS victims. It's sad he couldn't do these things. He had so much potential. He was also a good artist. He showed me a few of his pictures. Again, I'm saddened and sorry about our friends death. Feel free to post any of this on Brians home page. Thank you,

Joe Henning
