The Giving Tree
Q1: Who did you think about when you read this story?
About the tree, I thought about my mother, and about the boy, I thought about my brother, because my mother loves my brother and my brother loves my mother, too, like the tree and the boy. I think if my brother asks my mother for something, she will give it to him. I think the tree is very kind and the boy is selfish. When he was a little boy, he used to play with the tree. But as he grew up, he does not have enough time to play with the tree. I can understand so far. But I can not understand why he could sell the apples, cut the branches and cut the trunk.
Q2: What did you think of environment problems?
When I associate this story with environment problems, about the tree, I thought about the earth, and about the boy, I thought about people. People used to love the nature and play with it. Some people still love the nature, but only a handful of people. As people make progress, people destroyed nature and cut the trees like the boy. I thought that people are selfish.
Q3: What kind of people would you like to be?
I want to be a person who can think about not only myself but also other people. People are selfish, and we have nothing to do about that. I know it.
But I want to try to think about other people, and respect their humanity and their own idea.
