Giri and I spent 45 minutes with four Spotted Owlets in this tree. We started out below them, and then slowly worked our way around till we were sitting on a rock just at their eye level. It was when we tried to climb into the same tree (!!!) that they flew off.

Sitting back after a strenous round, a villager comes rushing in with news that Great Horned Owl has been spotted. I set off, equipment in hand and quickly see him from the road, sleeping on a big rock. I quietly approached from the left, hiding behind rocks and bushes, shooting off once in a while. I get to within 10 feet of him and he's still asleep. Then he hears me. Snaps head around and one eye flips open and he glares at me. I study the scuffs on my boots hoping he won't fly away. Or attack me. He ducks and then in one powerful leap, flys away...
