ristin Dieng's page

Kristin Dieng was born Kristin Elfering in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
She was raised primarily in Eden Prairie, MN and has spent much of her life moving from one place to another.
As a teenager, she ran cross-country for four years, played soccer for six years and spent a month as a student
ambassador to Western Europe. She also spent a year as an AFS exchange student to Australia,
living for a year with an Australian family in Melton, Victoria, near Melbourne. Finishing high
school in MN, Kristin attended Georgetown University her sophomore year. Kristin’s junior year
was spent in Dakar, Senegal, West Africa where she met her husband Oumar Dieng.
The two became engaged while Kristin was in Senegal and married in August 1997, right before
Kristin’s senior year of college. Following graduation from Georgetown, Kristin was hired as an Africa risk
analyst by Kroll information Services in Vienna, VA, where she currently works full-time.
Kristin and Oumar had a son, Ismaael Isa Dieng in April of 2000.
Although Ismaael developed bilateral pneumonia soon after his birth, spending one month in the
N.I.C.U., he has gotten better, alhamdulli’llah
