U.S. Passport   The United States Department of State has designated the Oxnard Public Library
  as a Passport Acceptance Facility. Other than the U.S. Post Offices in Oxnard
  (C Street Branch) and Simi Valley, and the Fillmore City Clerk's office, the Library is the
  only other establishment in Ventura County accepting passport applications.
  Monday through Thursday     Tuesdays & Wednesday from                Saturdays from
  from 10:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m.    5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.*              10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.*

    "We're hoping that people will come into the library to submit their passport applications then see the other great services that we offer," said Barbara Murray, Library Director. "We're looking forward to more people learning abut the library and benefitting from it."
    The Code of Federal Regulations authorizes passport acceptance facilities to collect and retain a $15 fee for the execution under oath or affirmation of each passport application. Along with the passport application, fees of $25 for children under 16 years and $45 for those 16 years and older are collected and sent to the passport agency.

Applying for a passport? Bring the following:

    Original/certified birth certificate from a U.S. county or state
       (abstract birth certificates not accepted)
    OR Your old passport
    OR Your naturalization certificate
    Valid driver's license or state I.D.
    2 passport photos (2" x 2")
    Payment to Passport Services (check or money order only)
    Payment to Oxnard Public Library ($15 check or money order only)
    DSP 11 Form (available at the Library)
    Marriage information
    Birthplace of mother and father
    Birth dates of mother and father
    Mother's maiden name


Effective 7-2-01: Applications for Children under age 14 require BOTH parents to be present and sign the application     It routinely takes six weeks to receive your new passport. For an additional expedite fee of $35 your passport can be delivered in two to three weeks.     The library has Fodor's and Frommer's Guides, Lonely Planet Videos, Language 30 (Learn a language in 30 days) Cassette Tapes. The library also has Internet terminals to access the U.S. State Dept. - Background Notes and the CIA World Factbook as well as the Embassy pages from Escape Artist to help you with Visa information.
