Children's is located on the west end of the first
floor of Oxnard Public Library. A reference librarian is always on duty
to help with questions, reader's advisories, and general assistance.

The following are Story Times at the Main Library:
In English:
Tuesday mornings from 10:30 - 11:00 a.m.(Recommended for 3-5 year olds)
Tuesday nights from 7:00 - 7:30 p.m.(For all Ages)
Saturdays 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m.(For all Ages)
In Spanish: Thursday nights from 5:00 - 5:30 p.m. For all Ages
Volunteers help students from kindergarten to eighth grade in the Homework Center from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Held in the Children's Activity Room the Homework Center is stocked with a set of encyclopedias and other reference books frequently used to answer homework questions.
A personal computer (with CD-ROMs) is available for skill development .
Librarians are on hand to assist when additional resources are needed. Children can learn to use the computerized library catalog, how to use encyclopedias, look for appropriate resources, and find books on the shelves.
