Hannibal, Mo., woman arrested in connection with Poplar Bluff bomb threats
By David Silverberg
POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Charges are being sought against a woman in connection with bomb threats made in January that resulted in the evacuation of Poplar Bluff schools, the courthouse and county health center.
Morgan C. Kile, 27, of Hannibal, Mo., was arrested by the Wichita (Kan.) Police Department.
She was extradited on Friday to Missouri and booked into the Butler County jail on Saturday. Pending the bomb threat charges, Kile is being held on a Butler County warrant for passing bad checks.
"We had information linking her to bomb threats at the Butler County Courthouse, Poplar Bluff schools and the Butler County Health Center," police chief Danny Whiteley said. "We are seeking charges against her for making terroristic threats.
Whiteley said police are also speaking with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Cape Girardeau about possible federal charges.
The bomb threat calls were made from the Hannibal area Jan. 20, according to Whiteley.
